On this excursion, we will discover the highest waterfalls in Morocco, its unevenness is about 600m and its path will also show us one of the treasures of the country, its large olive trees.
Ouzoud Waterfalls
They are waterfalls located in the central part of Morocco, considered the highest and most beautiful in the country. Between the small village of Tanaghmeilt, in the Middle Atlas, in the province of Azilal, Ouzoud is a Berber word meaning “olive” and it refers to the nearby olive trees that shade the path by which you access the lower part of waterfalls. At the top of the waterfalls there are a dozen old small mills that are still in use. You can also follow a narrow and difficult road that leads to the road of Beni Melal while the gorges of the wadi el-Abid descend by a canyon in which sometimes the lower part is not distinguished, with about 600 meters of difference. The Ouzoud waterfalls have been accessible for a short time from the small town of Aït Attab, arriving from Beni Mellal or Marrakech through the sugar town of Ouled.
The unevenness of its waterfalls will leave us astonished.
